Collecting Memories, 2017

While being on the road all I could do was collect sounds, objects, pictures and memories of people that I met. Judgments and opinions were far away... Even if I would like to use them, my mind was just free of them... The performance titled Collecting Memories is a meeting of an artist and person invited to the performance. I shared a recording of my voice which described how I deal emotionally with the topic of war. The recording was mixed with the voices I recorded during my trip: the sounds of insects, sea organs, and boys band playing on a Saturday night in a coastal Croatian city. The person in front of me was given the sound collage and was invited to listen to it for 7 minutes while posing for a portrait. It was planned to portray the person with an object. There were many items that the guest of performance could select: semi precious rocks, a shower head found in Villa of Josip Broz Tito, passport, and a small mirror. When the audio was over it was possible for my guest to see the drawing.
